I should not be an issue with bandwidth as you are unable to connect to the access point(your router) what it could be if you have many devices is that the DHCP pool is not large enough on your router.

Check out this link http://www.2000trainers.com/security/wireless-dhcp/ to read more on Dhcp. then log in to your router find something similar to network settings, in there there should be somthing similar to DHCP range or DHCP pool if this is low increase this to atleast the amount of devices you are connecting to your router. So if the range is 100 - 105 increase it to 100 - 1XX(number of network devices) that is including devices connected with a cable.

Also try to decrease the DHCP lease time, this should be on the same page as well, a setting like 180 minutes shoud suffice.
References :
http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2643

the problem may be the bandwidth(speed) you are getting from bipgond internet.if you use 2 or 3 laptop and multiple iphones at a time obviously the speed will decrease..check with the provider what bandwidth you are getting.
