    It is possible,but un-likely.With wireless it will tell you if they are capable of tracking you,but it isnt that hard since your requests go though their router,wich has a buffer and can create log files on a master computer.Again its highly unlikely that the average person does,or even can do it,and understand what it means with out the assistance of a program.Best way is to ask your neighbor if its alright,maybe give them a few bucks a month for usage or something.

  6. Yes, their router will log you MAC address (the computer fingerprint) and may well hold this for as much as a year after you cease using it. Routers also log connection information. But the biggest risk with open wireless is that anybody with a wireless machine can actually read all your transactions, including emails, user names and clear text passwords. It is also illegal to use it. You can be fined VERY heavily, and get up to 5 years in prison.

  7. better change your Network card MAC id and give a anonymous name to the Computer – so even if they can detect someone connected – but still could not catch who is it.

    But – I think it is illegal in many country law.

  8. He can only tell when you are connected or disconnected. viewing what you are doing or downloading is a bit hard not unless he installs a remote administration software like TightVNC. But then even with that he would have to install it in your laptop too. If however you are doing it illegally remember its immoral… you will get caught someday…
