Connecting my Xbox 360 to computer to get wireless internet problem?
i get the ethernet cable plugged in and go to my network connections, go to properties and click connection sharing but it says "An error occurred while Internet connection sharing was being enabled.
Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing. how do i fix this and connect to wireless internet through my 360
I explained this to someone else on my page, and am going to cut and paste what I told him here. Hopefully it will help you as well.

One of the most limiting features of using ICS is that you cannot "easily" change the IP address of the shared adapter. The local area connection WILL become 192.168.0.1. If there is any other device on your network with that same IP address, (Such as another computer with ICS on, or a manual IP address on the 360, another computer, etc) then ICS will fail and give you that error message. Now here’s the problem that most people with that error have. The problem is that their router is using IP address 192.168.0.1 instead of the more often used 196.168.1.1.
If your router is set to 192.168.0.1, then read on. If not, then try looking for whatever has the 192.168.0.1 address assigned to it. Now, about the router. It’s a pain in the butt, but the easiest and fastest way to fix that is to change the IP address on the router itself. Every router will have a different way to change the settings, but you’ll most likely find them under ‘DHCP settings, or LAN, or LAN IP SETUP. Once you find the settings, change them to work.
—===={{{ Keep in mind that you are changing your network settings! It would be a good idea to connect with a wire to your router when making changes. If you are wireless, then you will likely lose connection after you change the IP addresses. If you do, you will need to disconnect and reconnect to your wireless router to use the new DHCP settings. Make sure no other computers or laptops have manual IP addresses assigned to them or they will not be able to connect until you change them! If done correctly, the whole process should take less than 5 minutes. }}}====—–
Now for the settings to put in the router. In my example, I’d put the following settings. IP address = 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 DHCP Scope beginning address = 192.168.1.2 Ending address 192.168.1.10 (that allows 9 computers to connect, add more if necessary) From there, reboot the computer, and ICS should work. Earlier I mentioned there are no "easy" ways to change the 192.168.0.1 address for ICS. That’s because changing that address will take registry tweaking, and I never give registry tweaking tips over the internet. Too dangerous, and high odds your computer will never boot again if you corrupt your registry accidentally. =) So if the above helped you out, let me know. If it didn’t let me know as well. Best of luck! (I need to add all that info to my page as it does happen a lot more often than you’d think)
make a bridge connection with your wireless connection and your xbox 360 connection.
to do that:
Control Panel\Network Connections
highlight your wireless connection and the xbox 360 connection (Local area connection) then right click and choose bridge connection
