problem connecting to internet with my home pc while my son is playing his xbox 360?

as soon as my son starts playing his xbox ( xbox live) we can’t do anything on our PC. YET we can still work with our laptop which is connected via a wireless router. This is a real pain as he sneaks on and starts playing and we get hung up.

check to make sure the XBOX and the PC are not using the same ip address

is there a microfilter connected in the pc and x box brroadband line? cheak
