Why wont my Sony Vaio Lap Top connect to the internet?

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by admin

My son has left his sony vaio lap top at home. It will not connect to the internet. When I check all the network connections it tells me that it is connected to my BT home hub but when I open IE I receive an error message stating that Internet Explorer cannot open the web page. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may be conencted to the home hub, but is the home hub connected to your internet service provider? (Are other computers on the home hub,, and working properly?)

If not, unplug the home hub power supply, plug it back in, let it reconnect, then restart the computer.

Main Computer

and Linux Computer
:Wireless Card

I could connect to Verizon before on Windows but I’m not sure on how to on Ubuntu. Help?

Okay, so, I need to download ndiswrapper to get onto the internet, but aps-get needs to connect to the internet to download it? Any way I can get ndiswrapper on windows and then transfer it over to my Ubuntu? :X

Hey dude I connect to the Internet the same way except I got a different ISP. What you have to do is
Go to
1. System > Networking
You will see a list of Networking devices like
Wireless Connection, Ethernet Connection, Modem Connection.
2. Double click on Wireless Connection.
3. Click Enable this connection.
4. Select the Network by the putting in the Network Name.
If you got WEP enabled (The password to access your network) Enter it. Also make sure you select what type of key it is.. Usually it is in ASCII
Select DHCP if your router is set to randomly allocating Computers with IP addresses
click OK
Now back again in the Windoe showing the different Devices. make sure the Wireless Device Is Activated
NOw at the bottom of the window select the default gateway device is eth1 or eth0 depending on which one the wireless device is assigned to..

Having problems connecting to my wireless network?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

I’m having problems connecting to my wireless network. My computer cannot see the network (SSID) but I know the wireless network is up because a different computer is connected to the network .

Could anyone give me some options as to solving this issue?

If you cannot see the ssid you need to check this out:

1. Is the wireless turned on on the pc. Some pcs have a toggle switch on the pc as well as a software on / off switch. Make sure they are active.

2. Is the SSID broadcast turned on at the router? Usually this is turned off after all are initially configured.

Check these out.

which is the best programming language in modeling and connecting with databas?

The Answer are dependent on some factors:
1. What language you are acquainted to?
C++, vb, c#, Java
2. What Database?
mysql, Postgresql, sql server..

for me i use Visual Studio 2005/2008 in developing database application and mysql is my backend database, In VS you can do everything you want to do, like classes, enumerations, collections…I suggest you try VS-MySQL its the best software team.

Im having trouble connecting my ps3 to wireless to get online?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

i have connected to the right connection, put the wep key in but when it comes to the test connection, the @playstaion network bit fails,

Ok if your PS3 is one of the older models then it may have been affected by a previously unkown error affecting millions of units as of press time.

Try not to force the issue as it may erase your trophies and game data. Older PS3s apparently re-set its time/date back to 1999 as a result of a bug/glitch in the firmware causing problems with synchronization as consequently, deletion of files, data and trophies. An update is in the works. Don’t worry for now ok.

How do I connect to a wireless printer via a wireless router?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

I have a wireless printer, a wireless laptop and a desktop that is connected by USB to a wireless router. My laptop connects wirelessly to the printer but Im wondering if it is possible to connect the desktop wirelessly to the printer via the router? I have tried setting up a network to no avail. The desktop has XP and the laptop has Vista.
I have tried connecting the printer via the traditional methods but that doesnt work. I have tried connecting it via the USB but that doesnt work. When I click print and I send it to the printer, it counts up to 100% as normal but nothing happens.

just add it as a local printer via a tcp/ip port
print out the ip of the printer and put that ip into the add printer wizard.
that should do the trick
good luck!!!!!

pls Rate thx

Wireless internet network issues connecting to laptops?

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin

I have a Netgear Wireless Network Model MBR624GU, which uses my USB Modem for bipgond internet,
I can use the wireless for my laptop and multiple iphones and my xbox 360 via cable and it works good, but it has trouble connecting to two or more laptops, somtimes it just says limited connectivity for the second computer i connect, but sometimes they can connect together.

Any ideas?

I should not be an issue with bandwidth as you are unable to connect to the access point(your router) what it could be if you have many devices is that the DHCP pool is not large enough on your router.

Check out this link http://www.2000trainers.com/security/wireless-dhcp/ to read more on Dhcp. then log in to your router find something similar to network settings, in there there should be somthing similar to DHCP range or DHCP pool if this is low increase this to atleast the amount of devices you are connecting to your router. So if the range is 100 – 105 increase it to 100 – 1XX(number of network devices) that is including devices connected with a cable.

Also try to decrease the DHCP lease time, this should be on the same page as well, a setting like 180 minutes shoud suffice.
