Connecting xbox 360 to xbox live with an Ethernet cable?

When I try to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live using an ethernet cord it says it can’t get an ip address from my router so I tried entering it manually and it says it stil doesn’t work
Thanks Patrick but I’m not sure what you mean by keep messing with the ip address

i don’t know what equipment you have.you best bet is too call x-box Support and they will help you

mine did the same thing i just keep messin with the ip add and it just started work just keep messin with it it will work
