How do boarding passes work when it comes to having a connecting flight?

I’ve never traveled via air and had to have a connecting flight so I am just curious.

If you bought your ticket as 1 trip, when you show up for the first segment of your flight, the boarding pass will print out for the connecting flight as well. Any checked luggage will transfer as well.

  1. If your travel is all on one airline you should receive a boarding pass for your connecting flight. If you use online check-in and printing the airline should also show both boarding passes.
