can anyone tell me how I might connect an amplifier and speakers to my computer?

… I dont have a clue where to plug in to, or the kind of cables and plugs to use. I have seen some of the speaker systems for the computer, but they’re all pretty poor sound quality,

Computer speakers aren’t crappy at all… I got the Logitech z5500, it’s great as long you got a good soundcard. You need a good soundcard if you want to take advantage of those amplifier and speakers.

  1. there are decent systems. you will have to pay for them, though. If you want to use a regular stereo, you are going to have to get a jack with a rca splitter for L/R into the stereo.

goto radioshack and tell them what you are trying to do.

  2. You plug it into the "audio out" on the back of your computer. If you don’t have that output, you’ll have to plug it into the headphones jack.

It’s located on the sound card.
