My Toshiba Laptop is having problems connecting with my father’s wireless in the house.?

My laptop use to work before i tried fixing a slight glitch and unplug a whole bunch of cords from the router, modem and somethingelse….and now the computers and laptops are having problems. My Laptop says connected but it won’t allow me to get onto the internet, Can anyone help me plz?

depending on what kind of router it is depends on how to fix this kind of problem.
it could be a problem with your computers not deciding on a preferred DNS address. to set up the internet on your router follow these steps.
if it is a D-link router the typical address to do this is 192.168.0.1.
to get to the router go to your internet brower and in the URL spot type in the address of your router. typically 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
find a tab that says something like network or internet and then there should be a tab that says set up internet connection automatically.
if this doesn’t work e-mail me with the router make and model and i might be able to help you find the problem.

  1. Try disabling your connection and then enabling? My laptop did this too and that’s what worked for me.

My Toshiba laptop does this sometimes too. If disabling the wireless and then enabling doesn’t work, check and make sure the power cord is attatched to the router properly by unplugging it and plugging it back in. My laptop just connects then. However, if it’s connected to the router and not the internet, you may have to call your ISP and have it set to "bridge mode" so that the modem works with a wireless router. I hope this helps. Good luck!
