I have Problems connecting on my computer. this Computer is set to Broadband. ?

I have dial up and a 56 K modem I have error messages saying;
the port you are trying to connect to is already being used or is not configured right.
Can somebody help me with this?

The term "port" may refer to your serial port. Is there any other device that could be connected to your serial port?

Have you tried rebooting your computer?

Are you using Windows as an operating system?

Did you change any settings in the Device Manager?

Do you see the communication port COM1 when you open your Device Manager (under the Ports COM & LPT tab)?
