does anyone have problems connecting web applications to the internet using a BT Home Hub?
I am trying to get online gaming to run through my home hub but every time I start an application I get the message "could not connect to server". I am connected to the internet but it seems that these applications don’t have access to my ports. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, could they tell me how to remedy it please?
i have the bt home hub,and the problem at the moment they have released the home hub too quickly,as there are loads of hubs defective ,and even the hub phone had a problem with its design
however your problem seems to be a firewall setting stopping you connecting to the internet, its a simple remedy,go to the firewall option in the control panel and then to the exceptions tab, were you should tick the box were the name of the application is,then press ok
some applications that need internet access give you the option to block or unblock at the set up of the program, but some you need to do manually
you should also check with anyone else you know who uses this application to check wether its the server itself and not your p.c,s firewall
good luck
you have to change all your firewall settings and get rid of norton if you downloaded it.
References :
adjust your firewall settings to allow those programs to run, check to see if there is an exception listing and if so add those to it.
