would a SpeedStream 5260 DSL Modem work for connecting my two computers to one internet conection?

and if not what could i use it for or how can i use it to establish an internet connection on another computer

No, like someone said you need a router. you can find one at any electronic store, it can be a d-link, netgear, or linksys. One important thing though, if your internet provider is AT&T purchage a 2Wire gateway router, which is basically better than any other thing that you can get. It is better and more reliable… hope these helps… take care… any questions e-mail me ckravell@gmail.com

  1. no you need a router.
A router works by taking your one ip address that you pay for and giving each computer it’s own local ip address (wan vs lan)

  2. No, You will have to have a router. I suggest a wireless N router. It has everything you need. You can have the wireless or you can use a ethernet cable, You might need a N wireless USB Adapter if your computer is a desktop that does not have a wireless card. I say the N because it is the best. I wouldn’t waist my money on anything else.
