Connecting 2 computers through phone line…one with a DSL modem and the other with Dial up modem?

I have a DSL modem and my friend has a Dial up modem…How can i create a network connection between these two computes via phone line?

Just connect them both to the internet. Each computer will be assigned an IP address which you can use to communicate between them. If you want to link the computers without connecting to the internet then you will have to find another way as you cant directly link a dial up modem to a DSL modem.

  3. if you have a dial up modem as well you can create a dial-up connection. it is quite slow though. The will be one receiving side and the one the will dial the number. on the receiving side you will have to create new network connection, then in network connection create advanced connection, then accept incoming connections and choose your dial up modem… try to google it for nice instructions with screenshots .. i haven’t done direct dial-up for at least 6 years so i dont remember all the details.
