What to do if a firewall or loopback connection are blocking a program from connecting to the internet?

I was trying to download Limewire, but it says it is unable to start due to a firewall program or loopback connections. I have Limewire as an expection on my firewall and I have no idea what a loopback connection is. Please help me!!!!

Well, if you have the exception allowed in Windows, check your router.

If you have a loopback connectionI(which you shouldnt)pull it off.
More then likely your firewall/router is blocking it (hardware).
if not, then the broadband provider can be
