In my xp wireless connection are not connecting ,but it was connecting in ubuntu , what to do plz suggest me i gaved refresh network list but it displays no wireless network found in range ,make shore switch is on or not ?
yeah, sounds like your wireless is switched off.
If you don’t have a switch or button you can go to
Start > Connect To > Show all connections,
and right-click the wireless icon, and click Enable.
check networks connections and go local area "PROPERTIES"
and look the ip and dns… its better to set the ip’s and dns

also check that your router is set to broadcast its SSID
you wont see it unless its broadcasting
cheek that the hardware switch on your laptop is on some times this switch is a combination of keys (fn and f1,fn and f2,f3,f4,f5,f6,and so on )

There will be Switch on(wireless button) your laptop(satelite symbol).
Still not able to see the SSID,
Go to Start>> Run>(type "services.msc ".
You will get a page. Scroll down and click on " Wireless Zeroeth Configuration " Right click" properties".
We will get another page, go to "Recovery tab" and change all the 3 services as" Restart the service"..Click apply and Ok.
Thean again refresh the network . You will get your SSID, and you need to Type your Network password(passphrase).
We are done.
