How can i tell if someone is connecting to my wireless connection?
At certain times when neighbours are in , my wireless internet runs very slow,
Rather than trying to find out, why not just set a password for it?
Also, you could change the name of the network to something like "F**k off, this isn’t for you" so they see it when they try to connect
Log into your router and see the connections to your router
You can see if there are more than there should be, sometime even the names of the PC.
Basically, just set WPA2 key for wifi
(A strong WPA2 key)

you will need to log into your router – research your brand and model # of router on the net and it will explain how.

Hi
If you can log on to our wieless router and go to the DHCP option and see the address leases. To prevent this encrypt your wireless with WPA and use MAC filtering.
Refer to you router manual for instructions

are you on a secure network? if not the chances are very likely they are. to go into your router settings just type in you ip address to your long search bar, im with aol and this works fine and your default user and password will be admin and password (change this when possible) if your not with aol id contact your internet supplier and ask how to make your connection sucure if your not already. wireless can easdily be hacked into so where possible try to use a cable to your modem, the hacking disks was selling on ebay for under 5.00 so i dont take any chances.

This is due to the ISP overloading the system. They call it diversity. What happens is that say France Telecom allow for a total of 10MB for 50 houses. They work on the premise that you cannot all be on at the same time. However if you all decided to download say a MS update at the same time then you will get something akin to dial up speeds.
Think of it as the M1, during the rush hour you cannot move, at 04:00 you can do a ton and not see a car.
