Does having a long internet cable (the one connecting to the phone line) affect my net connection?
I always get disconnected when I’m playing online games. Does having a long internet cable (the thin one, connecting from my router to the phone lines) have something to do with the connection? It’s 50ft. Or does it sometimes cut the continuous net connection?
Not really.. Best thing is check if your cables are properly plugged, in my case before, it got loose so I had to ask them to replace the cable. Check too if there’s something putting pressure on the cables, like a chair on top of it O_O
It doesnt work? Contact your ISP
yes. you should be sure to get a dsl quality line first, many come in 25′-50′ lengths. the finer the wire, the worse the thru-put.

It should’nt have an effect on the connection. My brother has a 50ft cable running into his room for his xbox 360 and he has a full connection when playing on xbox live. The cable might be defective.

Are you confusing phone lines with ethernet cables? They’re different.
Now, assuming you really do mean an ethernet cable, ethernet cable signal degrades significantly after about 100ft but 50ft should be ok.

By phone lines, you meant you are using Dial-up.
In that case you will definitely have disconnections once in a while.
The length of the cable also affects the speed.
The longer it is, the less signal is transmitted to your computer.
You may consider having a Repeater to refresh the signal halfway.
But it still doesn’t solve the reality that Dial-up is slow.
We recommend having DSL instead.

The length could be part of the problem but sometimes phone lines have noise in them that cause connection issues. There should be a phone line filter connected to the phone line outlet in the wall that you plug the phone line into. All phone lines in the house should have these filters. The line can be tested for noise and there are commands that can stop this. Contact your internet service provider and tell them your problem.

you should always be connected to the internet no matter how long the cable but the longer the cable the more it will effect your internet speed. if your loosing internet connection completely i think you have a different problem on your hands other then the long cable

No not at all it works perfectly just make sure that you don’t have anything over the cable and make sure about the connections
