how do you connect to broadband on windows xp?

im having trouble with connecting to my broadband connection. when i go to connect to internet and its supposed to show a list of connections to connect to, but on mine it doesnt. there’s nothing wrong with my internet service provider; and i have AT&T U-Verse btw. i just dont know how to get my broadband connection on my windows xp.

Couple of possiblities
1. Wireless connection – normally Windows will see the wireless signal, and prompt you that it has found one (or more) and allow you to connect.
2. Wired connection – Again, Windows should see the connection and since it’s not going to have some kind of port security on it, it should auto connect.

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network Connections
(WiFi) Click on the Wireless Network Connection icon. Don’t have one? then you probably don’t have a WiFi card.
(hardwire) Right click "Local Network Connection" properties. Try Repair.
Good luck
