Could anyone give me some options as to solving this issue?

If you cannot see the ssid you need to check this out:

1. Is the wireless turned on on the pc. Some pcs have a toggle switch on the pc as well as a software on / off switch. Make sure they are active.

2. Is the SSID broadcast turned on at the router? Usually this is turned off after all are initially configured.

Check these out.

I have a Netgear Wireless Network Model MBR624GU, which uses my USB Modem for bipgond internet,
I can use the wireless for my laptop and multiple iphones and my xbox 360 via cable and it works good, but it has trouble connecting to two or more laptops, somtimes it just says limited connectivity for the second computer i connect, but sometimes they can connect together.

Any ideas?

I should not be an issue with bandwidth as you are unable to connect to the access point(your router) what it could be if you have many devices is that the DHCP pool is not large enough on your router.

Check out this link http://www.2000trainers.com/security/wireless-dhcp/ to read more on Dhcp. then log in to your router find something similar to network settings, in there there should be somthing similar to DHCP range or DHCP pool if this is low increase this to atleast the amount of devices you are connecting to your router. So if the range is 100 – 105 increase it to 100 – 1XX(number of network devices) that is including devices connected with a cable.

Also try to decrease the DHCP lease time, this should be on the same page as well, a setting like 180 minutes shoud suffice.

i have a wireless router Netgear WGR614 and i want to make sure that only those in my home are able to connect to it and also how do i check who else is using the router?

When a new computer attempts to connect to your network, do you need to type in a passphrase in order to connect? If not, anyone (neighbors) can connect to your network. To set up a passphrase, you need to log into your router’s device management console by going to 192.168.0.1 in your browser, and using username "admin" and password "password". From there you can enable a wireless security mode, and view a list of computers that have obtained an IP address from your router automatically.

I just set up a router in my apartment and I have two laptops (one i bought and one issued by my school). One laptop gets wireless easily, but the other one goes into the "acquiring network address" stage, then before it connects, it disables and goes back to "acquiring network address". So it never actually connects. But I can get it to work through a hard wire (LAN). What could cause this, or how can I fix it?

Restart your pc or wait awhile until it connects, or simply unplug your modem and router, wait for 5 mins, then plug the modem in first then the router.

If i buy a wireless notebook adapter, will it be able to connect to the internet upstairs? If my laptop is sitting next to the computer upstairs, I can connect. Please help I am clueless! Thanks!

What you need is a wireless router to provide wireless internet to the laptop. There is setup involved once you get the router but they all come with instructions on how to do the basic setup. A laptop with wireless "ability" already has a wireless notebook adapter built in, it can receive wireless signal, and a wireless router sends the wireless signal to the laptop.

Hi There,
Since your printer has an ethernet port it is designed to be used as a network printer and the step by step directions should be included in the printer setup information.
I just downloaded the printer manual and the info you will need is on pages 45 and 46 (in section 3).
In your laptop click on "Conttrol Panel" the select "Printers and other hardware"
click on "Printers" then select "Add Printer" you will then need to enter the IP address information and probably when asked go ahead and add the driver from the printer setup disk.
Don’t give up. With some patience you should be able to get it working.
don’t forget to set the new printer as the default.
Hope this helps,
Al

Your friends probably wouldn’t know or have the equipment to do it, but you can be sure schools do some monitoring and if you use their system, you cannot circumvent it.

The only way to do it would be going through a secure proxy server but there aren’t any free ones and it would probably against school policies.
