make sure the usb ports work properly,,
then go and buy a usb wifi adapter that is supported by windows xp…

usually it is a good habit before you install a new OS like windows xp, to check if all the drivers needed for your laptop model are available.

Looking for the best method to connect my system to get best quality sound and picture. I have a new panasonic 50" tcp50g10,Sony str dg800 reciever, HD directv box, ps3 and a 5 piece single speaker w subwoofer Bose set, now I was wondering what is the best way to connect. Currently have the hdmi running from tv to HD box and another to ps3, optical wire from ps3 to reciever and another from HD box to reciever. Should it be straight to tv? How bout calibration of tv? Or adjusting the colors myself? I have a app in my iPhone that helps. Or are the DVDs better?
Ohh, and also setting on ps3 for audio
Should optical run from device to tv or device to stereo?

Your currently set up is correct. Just set bitstream on PS3 audio settings.

My son has left his sony vaio lap top at home. It will not connect to the internet. When I check all the network connections it tells me that it is connected to my BT home hub but when I open IE I receive an error message stating that Internet Explorer cannot open the web page. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may be conencted to the home hub, but is the home hub connected to your internet service provider? (Are other computers on the home hub,, and working properly?)

If not, unplug the home hub power supply, plug it back in, let it reconnect, then restart the computer.

i have connected to the right connection, put the wep key in but when it comes to the test connection, the @playstaion network bit fails,

Ok if your PS3 is one of the older models then it may have been affected by a previously unkown error affecting millions of units as of press time.

Try not to force the issue as it may erase your trophies and game data. Older PS3s apparently re-set its time/date back to 1999 as a result of a bug/glitch in the firmware causing problems with synchronization as consequently, deletion of files, data and trophies. An update is in the works. Don’t worry for now ok.
