First i would try different usb ports, that one may have been damaged. If that doesn’t work try deleting the phone driver off of your computer and re-installing it.

Connecting a plasma tv to ps3, home theater reciever and HD Dvr/ directv?

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin

Looking for the best method to connect my system to get best quality sound and picture. I have a new panasonic 50" tcp50g10,Sony str dg800 reciever, HD directv box, ps3 and a 5 piece single speaker w subwoofer Bose set, now I was wondering what is the best way to connect. Currently have the hdmi running from tv to HD box and another to ps3, optical wire from ps3 to reciever and another from HD box to reciever. Should it be straight to tv? How bout calibration of tv? Or adjusting the colors myself? I have a app in my iPhone that helps. Or are the DVDs better?
Ohh, and also setting on ps3 for audio
Should optical run from device to tv or device to stereo?

Your currently set up is correct. Just set bitstream on PS3 audio settings.

Why wont my Sony Vaio Lap Top connect to the internet?

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by admin

My son has left his sony vaio lap top at home. It will not connect to the internet. When I check all the network connections it tells me that it is connected to my BT home hub but when I open IE I receive an error message stating that Internet Explorer cannot open the web page. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may be conencted to the home hub, but is the home hub connected to your internet service provider? (Are other computers on the home hub,, and working properly?)

If not, unplug the home hub power supply, plug it back in, let it reconnect, then restart the computer.

Im having trouble connecting my ps3 to wireless to get online?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

i have connected to the right connection, put the wep key in but when it comes to the test connection, the @playstaion network bit fails,

Ok if your PS3 is one of the older models then it may have been affected by a previously unkown error affecting millions of units as of press time.

Try not to force the issue as it may erase your trophies and game data. Older PS3s apparently re-set its time/date back to 1999 as a result of a bug/glitch in the firmware causing problems with synchronization as consequently, deletion of files, data and trophies. An update is in the works. Don’t worry for now ok.

I just connected to some of my neighbors internet. Can they get my info?

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin

I connected to other peoples wireless internet for a like less than a minute. I didn’t go on the internet though. Is it possible for them to have gotten info on me when i connected to their wireless router?

Any and all packets going through a router can be "sniffed" as well as the MAC address of the machine connecting. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No.

easier if you hook up your laptop to the printer via a network cable, the it will assign an IP address, mine gave me letters instead of the stander 192.162. etc…… but not an issue.

How do I connect my HP G60-519WM to my TV?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

I have a HP G60-519WM laptop that I would like to connect to my TV to watch videos. If I’m correct, the laptop has a VGA port. My HD TV has a S-Video Port. What specific accessories do I need to successfully connect my laptop to the TV? Thanks.

It’s complicated but it will work:

Step 1 – Plug this into your laptop:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999901

Step 2 – Plug this into the adapter:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186025

Plug the other end of item #2 into one of the HDMI ports on your TV.

Once you have the TV set to receive the signal from the laptop, hold the Fn key and press F5. TA-DAAA!!!

can anyone tell me how I might connect an amplifier and speakers to my computer?

Posted on February 27th, 2010 by admin

… I dont have a clue where to plug in to, or the kind of cables and plugs to use. I have seen some of the speaker systems for the computer, but they’re all pretty poor sound quality,

Computer speakers aren’t crappy at all… I got the Logitech z5500, it’s great as long you got a good soundcard. You need a good soundcard if you want to take advantage of those amplifier and speakers.
